چکیده
AIM: To describe the clinical and radiologic features of retrolaminar migration silicone oil (SiO) observe dynamic position ventricular accumulation in supine prone. METHODS: For this retrospective study, 29 patients who had a history SiO injection treatment underwent unenhanced head computed tomography (CT) were included from January 2019 to October 2022. The divided into migration-positive negative groups. Clinical CT compared using Whitney U Fisher's exact tests. was observed within system images visually assessed for along involving pathways vision (optic nerve, chiasm, tract) system. RESULTS: Intraocular found 5 (17.24%), with at optic nerve (n=1), (n=4), chiasm tract lateral ventricles (n=1). time interval between examination cases significantly higher than that migration-negative (22.8±16.5mo vs 13.1±2.6mo, P<0.001). hyperdense lesion located frontal horns right ventricle migrated fourth when changing CONCLUSION: Although is unusual, clinician radiologist should be aware routes. combined prone first-choice method confirm presence

She had banged the back of her head followed by a brief period of nausea and vomiting which was self-limiting. One year before, the patient underwent surgical repair for retinal detachment of left eye with involvemen...
متن کاملIntraocular Silicone Oil Masquerading as Terson Syndrome
Introduction. Terson syndrome is described as intraocular hemorrhage in association with any type of intracranial hemorrhage and is associated with higher mortality rate and vision loss. Intraocular hemorrhage in Terson syndrome may be diagnosed using computed tomography but there are false positive results. Silicone oil which is widely used for internal tamponade of complicated retinal detachm...
متن کاملSilicone Migration: An Unusual Eyelid Complication Following Intraocular Surgery.
Ultrasound imaging is not traditionally employed to evaluate eyelid lesions. Nevertheless, this technology permits the delineation of static and dynamic changes and could be useful in evaluating eyelid masses by providing additional information to clinicians for optimal surgical planning, especially in facilities where a computed tomography (CT) scan is not readily available. A 63-year-old woma...
متن کاملElectroretinographic studies following vitrectomy and intraocular silicone oil injection.
Vitrectomy was performed bilaterally in pigmented rabbits and followed by silicone oil injection in one eye only. Electroretinographic studies were performed preoperatively and at selected postoperative intervals. In the early postoperative period both eyes showed an initial reduction in a and b wave amplitudes, followed by a return to baseline values. The amplitudes were symmetrically and equa...
متن کاملHeavy Silicone Oil and Intraocular Inflammation
In the past two decades, many advances have been made in vitrectomy instrumentation, surgical techniques, and the use of different tamponade agents. These agents serve close retinal breaks, confine eventual retinal redetachment, and prevent proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). Long-acting gases and silicone oil are effective internal tamponade agents; however, because their specific gravity i...
